Goalkeeper Andrew Dawber leaves Accrington Stanley

Goalkeeper Andrew Darber leaves Accrington Stanley by mutual consent having failed to make a single appearance for the League Two club this season.

Goalkeeper Andrew Darber has left Accrington Stanley by mutual consent to pursue first-team football.

The 20-year-old, who is currently sidelined by a thigh injury, made the last of his five Stanley appearances on New Year's Day 2014.

He has not turned out for the League Two outfit all season, despite them using eight goalkeepers including a host of loanees.

Dawber told the club's official website. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here but it hasn't worked out.

"I will have to look at myself as to why it hasn't worked out for me and see if I could have done more and why it's happened.

"I have loved my time at Accrington Stanley, I love my teammates and I feel sad at leaving but I have to now look to the future."

Stanley manager John Coleman recently signed veteran stopper Tony Warner to act as deputy to Scott Davies.
