AFC Wimbledon loan Middlesbrough forward

AFC Wimbledon sign Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke on a one-month loan deal.

Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke has joined AFC Wimbledon on a one-month loan contract.

Wyke netted just twice in 26 appearances for Hartlepool last season, but Dons boss Neal Ardley is pleased to sign the 21-year-old for the remainder of January.

The 41-year-old told the club's official website: "We looked at Charlie last season and we have monitored him since then. He comes highly recommended from contacts that we've got in the North.

"Middlesbrough have been very good with us in this deal because it requires hardly any financial outlay."

Wyke could make his debut in AFC Wimbledon's League Two fixture at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
