Seven-time winners Egypt have failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations for the second consecutive tournament.
Bob Bradley's side headed into today's encounter against the Central African Republic already trailing 3-2 from the opening leg.
Despite a goal from Emad Moteab midway through the second half, Egypt could only muster a 1-1 draw in the return fixture, which saw them lose 4-3 on aggregate and exit the competition at the first hurdle.
The tournament, which will take place in January 2013, will be hosted by South Africa.
