Auxerre remain in danger of relegation from Ligue 1 after a thumping 4-2 defeat at the hands of Bordeaux.
The visitors stunned the home side in the first minute of the clash after Bordeaux forward Yoan Gouffran found the net with his left foot from the centre of the box to give his side the lead.
Bordeaux continued to damage Auxerre's hopes of survival after Gouffran scored a second strike just minutes before Ludovic Sane converted a header to put Bordeaux 3-0 up after 10 minutes of the first half.
Despite the heavy blow, the home side tried to get on the scoresheet through Roy Contout, but the striker failed to hammer home a left-footed shot from the edge of the box.
The first 45 minutes of the clash drew to a close with Auxerre on the front foot and desperate to find a way through the away side's defence.
The home side's second half hopes were dashed in the first few minutes after the break when Jaroslav Plasil powered a shot from the edge of the box into the back of net.
Despite Auxerre appearing down and out, Alain Traore and Olivier Kapo managed to provide a thrilling end to the match by scoring two goals respectively, but the fightback came too late for the struggling side, who succumbed to defeat on home turf.
