GFCO Ajaccio have advanced to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France after a 1-0 win over Montpellier on Wednesday.
It was the home side who started much the better, and they might have taken the lead after ten minutes when Nicolas Verdier advanced on goal, but his effort drifted just wide of the post.
Montpellier began to dominate as the half progressed, however, albeit with chances few and far between in a tight opening period.
The much-fancied Olivier Giroud remained the away side's biggest threat in the early stages of the second period, and twice be brought the best out of Lucas Rastello in the home side's goal.
Yohan Bocognano sent the home side into jubilation, however, as he added a winner after 75 minutes to secure Ajaccio's place in the last four.
