PSV Eindhoven have split the Eredivisie title race wide open after securing a 2-1 victory against Ajax in Sunday's clash at the Amsterdam Arena.
The visitors opened the scoring after just seven minutes when Gaston Pereiro weaved his way through the home defence and was allowed enough space to rifle a ferocious shot into the top of the net.
Ajax were level just three minutes later, however, with Riechedly Bazoer's shot from outside the box bouncing off PSV and into the path of Amin Younes, who was perfectly positioned to blast home.
The hosts survived on level terms until half time, though Bazoer was forced to frantically clear the ball off the line after Jeffrey Bruma glanced a firm header towards goal.
PSV continued to threaten and were soon back in front, Pereiro netting his second in the 79th minute after cutting the ball onto his left and curling past Jasper Cillessen.
It turned out to be the winner as Ajax's previously significant lead at the top of the Eredivisie table was cancelled out, Feyenoord now level on points with the Amsterdam giants, while PSV sit just two points behind in fourth place.
