Valencia have reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey after overcoming Alaves on penalties in their quarter-final second leg at the Estadio de Mendizorroza on Wednesday evening.
Los Che, who led 2-1 in the tie from the first leg at the Mestalla, found themselves a goal down in the 73rd minute.
Rodrigo Ely's delivery from the right was met by Munir El Haddadi and headed into the top-right corner of the visitors' net.
Valencia drew level just four minutes later, however, as a counter-attack culminated in Simone Zaza playing in Santi Mina, who duly rifled home for the away goals advantage.
With just four minutes left in the game, Alaves levelled the tie through Ruben Sobrino, who drilled home from close range following a free kick into the area, to force extra time.
The additional 30 minutes of football could not separate the two sides either, ensuring that the tie would have to be settled via a penalty shootout.
Valencia keeper Jaume Domenech proved the hero as he kept out spot kicks from Alfonso Pedraza and Hernan Perez.
Sobrino then blasted his effort high above the bar in the final penalty kick to ensure that Marcelino Garcia Toral's side would progress to the final four of the competition.
