Anderlecht boss Vincent Kompany is reportedly keen to sign experienced defender Ashley Williams in January.
The 35-year-old will see his current deal with Bristol City end in the middle of January, and it is thought that the Welshman will leave the Championship side at the start of 2020.
According to The Sun, Kompany wants an experienced centre-back to provide guidance to his players at Anderlecht, which has led the former Manchester City captain to consider a swoop for Williams.
The defender played over 350 times for Swansea City before joining Everton, where he made a further 73 appearances before being released at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
Anderlecht, who have the likes of Samir Nasri, Nacer Chadli and Kemar Roofe in their ranks, are currently 12th in Belgium's top flight having only won two of their 10 league matches this season.
Kompany currently holds a player-manager role with the Purple and Whites.
