Preview: Ankaragucu vs. Sivasspor - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Turkish Super Lig clash between Ankaragucu and Sivasspor, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Ankaragucu are currently bottom of the Turkish Super Lig heading into this weekend, and they will be hosting Sivasspor in their latest fixture.

The visitors are sat just above the relegation zone right now, and much like their opponents, they have also failed to win a game so far.

Match preview

The start of the season has been a difficult one for Ankaragucu, who are without a victory in their opening five games of the season.

Their campaign began with a goalless draw, but since that point, they have been unable to secure any results, with four consecutive defeats heading into this one.

While Ankaragucu have been able to score in every game since, they have also conceded 10 goals in four matches, with only two teams in the division having let in more goals this season.

Their latest performance took place against Alanyaspor, and despite the fact that Yasin Gureler was able to score an equaliser in the 69th minute they did not hold onto the result.

In the end, an 89th-minute goal saw them lose the game, and that late concentration is something that the squad will be hoping to focus on this weekend.

The visitors are also without a victory this season as well, which is why they are sat just above the relegation zone at the moment.

A defeat could lead to them slipping into the bottom four of the table, and Ankaragucu could end up being level on points if they are able to win here.

Sivasspor has seen a change in fortune as of late though, and they head into this match on a four-game undefeated run which has seen them draw three times, and then pick up a victory in their most recent performance.

The visitors defeated CFR Cluj in the Europa Conference League after a penalty from Max Gradel, and the fact that they kept a clean sheet was another strong improvement.

After drawing their two most recent league encounters, the squad have started building some momentum which could lead to them progressing up the table if they are able to secure their first win.

Team News

The hosts will benefit from the fact that Marlon will be able available once again this weekend after he served his one-match suspension, and he might slot straight back into the squad.

However, one player they will be missing is Efecan Karaca, who has been dealing with an injury since the opening game.

Ugur Ciftci could be straight back into the starting lineup this weekend following his recent suspension, and he will be a welcome boost to the squad overall in creating more depth.

Samba Camara is someone the visitors are going to be without though due to the fact the central defender has suffered a knee problem.

Ankaragucu possible starting lineup:
Gungordu; Marlon, Mujakic, Cankaya, Ceylan; Pedrinho, Cigerci; Ariyibi, Zahid, Beridze; Macheda

Sivasspor possible starting lineup:
Sasal; Osmanpasa, Goutas, Appindangoye, Erdal; Ulvestad, Keita; N'Jie, Saba, Gradel; Yatabare

We say: Ankaragucu 0-2 Sivasspor

Neither team have been able to secure a victory this season, making this a crucial game for each of them as they look to improve their standing in the league table.

With both being low in confidence there is a lot to be achieved here, but it is the visitors who have been picking up stronger results overall, which could see them take all three points.
