Arbroath win to extend League Two lead

Dylan Carreiro's goal gives Arbroath a 1-0 win over Annan Athletic that takes them eight points clear at the top of Scottish League Two.

Arbroath recorded their fourth consecutive win to move eight points clear at the top of Scottish League Two this evening.

Dylan Carreiro scored the only goal of the game when he collected Simon Murray's pass and fired home from outside the area after just 10 minutes.

Stuart McColm and Josh Todd went close for Annan Athletic in quick succession either side of the half-hour mark, while Michael McAnespie saw his effort well saved by David Crawford in the Arbroath goal.

Arbroath nearly doubled their lead through Kevin Buchan late on, but his effort was repelled by Andrew Mitchell.
