Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal transfer plans

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has affirmed that he is working closely with technical director Edu as the duo prepare for an "unpredictable" January transfer market.

The Gunners are currently in their worst-ever position in the Premier League after 10 matches, and Arsenal have been linked with a number of players to address their creativity problems.

Lyon's Houssem Aouar and Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai have been strongly linked with moves to North London, while Inter Milan's Christian Eriksen and Norwich City's Emiliano Buendia have also been mentioned as potential winter signings.

When asked about possible comings and goings next month during a press conference, Arteta said: "We are planning, talking with Edu and with the club about the things we can do in January.

"But at the moment it's pretty difficult, unpredictable as well in terms of places we are very restricted in the moment.

"We'll see what happens, I think things will move in the market, we will be prepared, we will need to do something knowing the limitations of that market in January and the limitations we have as well to sign players."

Arsenal will be looking to maintain their 100% record in the Europa League against Rapid Vienna on Thursday evening, but Arteta's men head into the game following a lowly defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers - their third top-flight loss in a row at home.

Liverpool, Arsenal hold interest in Brighton & Hove Albion's Yves Bissouma?

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal and Liverpool.

Bissouma is in his third season at the Amex Stadium, making a total of 66 appearances since the club earned promotion to the Premier League.

While the 24-year-old has not always been regarded as first choice at the Seagulls, the Mali international has produced a number of eye-catching performances.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal and Liverpool have been monitoring the progression of Bissouma in recent months.

Transfer expert Alex Crook told the radio station: "Bissouma is a player [Mikel] Arteta is a big fan of. I know Arsenal are by no means the only big six club keeping tabs on him.

"Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also monitoring his situation as he looks for a replacement for the out of contract Gini Wijnaldum."

Bissouma has just over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Brighton.
