Saturday's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup: Nathan Collins, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Martin Odegaard

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Arsenal on Saturday, January 30.

The January transfer window is now open, with Arsenal continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

The Gunners have endured a torrid first half of the season and have been tipped to bolster their ranks this month - in addition to offloading out-of-favour players - in a bid to turn their campaign around.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Emirates Stadium.

Saturday morning's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup:

Arsenal 'quoted £15m for Stoke City's Nathan Collins'

Arsenal would reportedly have to fork out a fee of £15m if they want to land Stoke City starlet Nathan Collins.

The centre-back, who is also capable of playing on the right-hand side, quickly became a regular for the Potters over the festive period, and he has played the full 90 minutes in his side's last 13 Championship matches.

Collins has supposedly garnered interest from Arsenal and several other top-flight clubs following his breakthrough campaign, but Stoke are not willing to let him leave on the cheap.

According to TEAMtalk, Michael O'Neill's side will swiftly reject any offers below £15m, and it may take an even higher bid to prise the 19-year-old away from the Bet365 Stadium.

The report also claims that Burnley have already tabled a bid just short of £5m for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s international, but Stoke were quick to rebuff the Clarets' advances.

Collins still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his deal with the Championship side.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta opens door to extended Martin Odegaard stay

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened the door to an extended stay for Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard.

The 22-year-old completed a loan move to the Emirates Stadium earlier this week after struggling for regular game time under Zinedine Zidane, although the deal does not include an option to buy.

Los Blancos already have Dani Ceballos plying his trade at Arsenal for a second successive season, and Arteta has claimed that a similar agreement over Odegaard could be possible in the future.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Saturday's showdown with Manchester United, Arteta said: "He certainly has all the qualities and characteristics that we are looking for for that position. Then it will be down to two things.

"First of all, how well he adapts here and how much of an impact he can have in our team. Secondly, what Real Madrid and the player think about it because he's owned by Real Madrid and the player has a big say in that too."

Odegaard could make his debut for the club when they welcome the Red Devils to the capital at the weekend, with fellow playmaker Emile Smith Rowe an injury doubt.
