Half-Time Report: Arsenal in cruise control

Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud score early in the first half to hand Arsenal a 2-0 lead against Napoli at the break.

Arsenal have taken a 2-0 lead against Napoli at half time in their Champions League Group F clash.

Mesut Ozil broke the deadlock at the Emirates Stadium after just eight minutes when he guided an Aaron Ramsey pass from the edge of the box into the top corner of the net.

Seven minutes later Olivier Giroud doubled the Gunners' advantage when he collected Ozil's pass and slammed it home from just yards out after Napoli had given away the ball cheaply.

However, Arsenal could have conceded midway through the half had Miguel Britos been able to keep his close-range header on target.

Arsene Wenger's side dominated the remainder of the first 45 minutes but failed to add another goal.
