Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has apologised following his performance in last night's Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
The German international's missed penalty in the first half of the Gunners' 2-0 defeat to Bayern at the Emirates was heavily criticised.
The former Real Madrid star also came under fire for his overall performance, with manager Arsene Wenger claiming that Ozil was affected by his failure to convert from the spot.
Ozil wrote on his official Facebook page: "The next morning doesn't feel better either. sorry guys - it wasn't planned that way. outnumbered it was really hard to win against this team. #ucl #AFCvBAY."
Arsenal will head to the Allianz Arena next month for the second leg of the round-of-16 tie.
