Roy Keane hits out at "weak" Arsenal

Roy Keane slams "weak" Arsenal following their Champions League elimination to Barcelona.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has stuck the boot into "weak" Arsenal as their season continues to unravel.

The Gunners lost 3-1 at Barcelona on Wednesday night to bow out of the Champions League with a 5-1 aggregate defeat, after the Liga giants effectively killed off the last-16 tie in the first leg.

With Arsene Wenger's side 11 points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City, and eliminated from the FA Cup on Sunday, their season appears to be on the brink of collapse, and Keane links it to a mental fragility within the squad.

"It tells you that they've got a weak group of players, who can't seem to lift it for certain games," he told ITV.

"No doubt the pressure has got to them in the last few months and for players at Arsenal football club who can't deal with pressure, then you shouldn't be there.

"Tonight the damage was already obviously done in the first game. There's no great shame in losing 3-1 tonight, the effort was there. But I think Barcelona had switched off."

The North Londoners, who do have a game in hand over Leicester, can reduce the gap to eight points by beating Everton on Saturday afternoon.
