Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wary of Arsenal threat

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge warns that his side will have to be at their best over both legs to beat Arsenal in the Champions League last 16.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has warned that his side will have to be at their best over both legs if they are to beat Arsenal in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The two sides met at the same stage of the competition last season, with Bayern edging past the Gunners on away goals before going on to win the trophy.

The German giants are looking to become the first side to successfully defend the crown in the Champions League era, and Rummenigge admits that he would have preferred an easier draw for his team.

"There were more comfortable and easier opponents in the bowl, but we can't change it," Rummenigge told the club's official website.

"We know that they are opponents who we've got to treat with the utmost respect, and that is what we will do. We're going to have to play two great games."

Bayern are currently romping away with the Bundesliga title, sitting seven points clear having dropped just two points from their opening 16 matches.
