Arsenal's Jack Wilshere expected to sit out Monaco visit

Arsenal are unlikely to have Jack Wilshere available for Wednesday's visit of Monaco in the Champions League last 16.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is not likely to be risked in tomorrow's last-16 Champions League first leg against Monaco at the Emirates.

The England midfielder has been named in Arsene Wenger's provisional squad for the game, but is expected to be rested as he hasn't played a competitive game since November.

He was an unused substitute in the Gunners' 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday after recovering from ankle ligament damage.

Arsenal are also without midfielders Aaron Ramsey (hamstring), Mikel Arteta (ankle), Abou Diaby (calf) and defender Mathieu Debuchy (shoulder) for the visit of Les Rouges et Blancs, who only conceded one goal on their way to winning Group C.
