Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has been named the Premier League Manager of the Season in the Sports Mole Writers' Awards for 2022-23.
The Englishman steered the Magpies to a fourth-placed finish in the top flight, earning a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2003-04.
It was their highest league finish for two decades, and a significant improvement on their 11th-place position in 2021-22, ending this season 22 points better off than 12 months earlier.
No team lost fewer Premier League matches than Newcastle in 2022-23, while they also boasted the joint-best defensive record in the division alongside champions Manchester City.
Those exploits were enough to earn Howe 50% of the votes from our team of reporters when it came to the best manager from the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
Howe finished above title-winning boss Pep Guardiola (30%), while Brighton & Hove Albion's Roberto De Zerbi and Arsenal's Mikel Arteta were the only other managers to garner votes.
The final voting stands in contrast to the results of our annual Readers' Awards, which saw Guardiola finish top of the lot ahead of Arteta and Manchester United's Erik ten Hag.
