Former France midfielder Patrick Vieira has revealed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is no stranger to the French squad.
The Arsenal winger was a popular inclusion in Roy Hodgson's 23-man party and started the 1-0 win over Belgium on Saturday at Wembley.
While many nations may be unsure on Oxlade-Chamberlain, Vieira insists that his performances for the Gunners have not gone unnoticed in France.
"The French know a lot about him already," Vieira told talkSPORT.
"The English game is quite popular in France and all of the players know the English players really well.
"He is a top player and he has a fantastic future ahead of him. He could be the surprise player for the English side."
Chamberlain joined Arsenal from Southampton last summer for a fee of around £12m.
