Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Rennes

Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Arsenal ahead of their Europa League last-16 second leg clash with Rennes on Thursday.

Arsenal have it all to do when they welcome Rennes to the Emirates Stadium for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday night.

The Gunners slumped to a surprise 3-1 defeat in last week's first leg after seeing Sokratis Papastathopoulos sent off before half time.

However, Unai Emery's side bounced back with a morale-boosting win over Manchester United on Sunday, putting them in pole position to claim a top-four spot in the Premier League.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's clash in North London.

Possible return date: March 14

Mkhitaryan missed Sunday's win over his former club Manchester United with a lower back problem but may recover in time for Thursday's match.

Holding will also miss the rest of the season having suffered a similar ACL injury to Bellerin during a December Premier League meeting with Manchester United.

Danny Welbeck

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Welbeck may well have played his final game for Arsenal having been ruled out until beyond the end of his current contract due to a broken ankle which required two rounds of surgery.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Sokratis will serve his one-match ban following his two yellow cards in the first leg, both of which came inside the opening 41 minutes. Alexandre Lacazette was also due to be suspended for this match, but his three-game ban was reduced to two on appeal on Tuesday and he will therefore be available.
