Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Portsmouth

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Monday night's FA Cup fifth-round showdown with Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Arsenal must turn their attention to their only remaining chance of silverware this season when they face League One Portsmouth at Fratton Park in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday night.

The Gunners suffered a heartbreaking extra-time exit from the Europa League at the hands of Olympiacos on Thursday, leaving their hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League in tatters.

However, the most successful team in FA Cup history will be favourites to progress into the quarter-finals against their lower-league hosts as Mikel Arteta looks to mark his first season in charge with a trophy.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to the South coast.

Shkodran Mustafi

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 2 (vs. Portsmouth)

The much-improved Shkodran Mustafi limped off in extra time of the defeat to Olympiacos with an apparent muscle injury and, while it did not appear to be particularly serious, he may be hard-pressed to recover in time for Monday.

Sead Kolasinac

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Sead Kolasinac had only just returned from another problem when he suffered a "significant shoulder injury" against Everton last weekend. No timeframe has been given on his return yet, but he is expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Calum Chambers

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Calum Chambers suffered a torn ACL at the end of last year and will not feature again this season as a result.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: March 2 (vs. Portsmouth)

Kieran Tierney has now returned to training after suffering a dislocated shoulder and, while Monday's match may possibly come too soon for him, Arteta has confirmed that the full-back is "much closer" to a return and an FA Cup tie against lower-league opposition seems like a good chance for minutes.

Cedric Soares

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: March 2 (vs. Portsmouth)

Cedric Soares is yet to make his debut for Arsenal having arrived from Southampton in January while carrying a knee injury, but he is closing in on full fitness and the trip to Fratton Park could also provide him with a good chance to get minutes under his belt.

Pablo Mari

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: March 2 (vs. Portsmouth)

Another January arrival who has not yet featured for the senior team, Pablo Mari has been building up his fitness in recent weeks and Arteta is confident that he will be in contention for his debut against Portsmouth.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players who are suspended for this match.
