Three changes for Liverpool as Brad Jones, Joe Allen and Daniel Agger are all given the nod by manager Brendan Rodgers. Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure and Jordan Henderson are those who make way.

ARSENAL: Fabianski; Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Arteta, Flamini; Chamberlain, Ozil, Podolski; Sanogo

ARSENAL SUBS: Sagna, Wilshere, Giroud, Cazorla, Gibbs, Gnabry, Viviano

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made a total of seven changes to his starting XI. Yaya Sanogo starts up front in place of Olivier Giroud, while Mathieu Flamini returns following his suspension. Carl Jenkinson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski are among those who are also recalled.

Today's match is the second time in eight days that Arsenal and Liverpool have faced each other. Unless you have been living in a cave you would have heard that the Gunners were thrashed 5-1 at Anfield in the Premier League last Saturday, a result that they will be desperate to put right this afternoon.

HEAD TO HEAD: This is the 17th meeting between Arsenal and Liverpool in the FA Cup, with the Gunners winning seven times compared to Liverpool's five.

The last time that they faced off in the FA Cup was back in 2007 when Arsenal earned a 3-1 win at Anfield in the third round.

UPDATE: Today's early kickoff in the FA Cup has just finished at Goodison Park where Everton have beaten Swansea City 3-1 to make it into the quarter-finals. Jonathan de Guzman cancelled out Lacina Traore's early strike, but goals from Steven Naismith and Leighton Baines made sure that the Toffees reached the next round. Incidentally, the quarter-final draw is going to be made in the next few minutes. We'll bring it to you right here as soon as it happens.

FA CUP QUARTER-FINAL DRAW:

Arsenal/Liverpool vs. Everton
Man City vs. Wigan
Sheffield United/Nottingham Forest vs. Sheffield Wednesday/Charlton Athletic
Brighton/Hull vs. Sunderland

Now that is a draw! The winners of this afternoon's match will host Everton in the last eight, meaning that we will have a Merseyside derby if Liverpool make it through. Elsewhere, Man City host Wigan in a repeat of last year's final. There is the possibility of a Sheffield derby, while Gus Poyet could return to former club Brighton with Sunderland. Yowzers!

REFEREE WATCH: The official for today's match at the Emirates Stadium is Howard Webb.

PREDICTION TIME: So, how do you see this encounter going today? It has the makings of a fantastic tie, and we here at Sports Mole can see it living up to its potential. Put us down for a 2-2 draw.

UPDATE: Everton's win over Swansea aside, there is one other FA Cup tie being played today at Bramall Lane where Sheffield United are losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. The referee is just about to blow for half time there.

Around five minutes to go until kickoff at the Emirates Stadium and both sets of players are starting to emerge in the tunnel. Arsenal must be desperate to get out there and put last week's 5-1 hammering to bed, but you have to say that they have their work cut out against an in-form Liverpool side.

The teams are out, the pre-match handshakes have been done, and it will be Arsenal to kick us off at the Emirates Stadium. Here we go!

CHANCE! Early opening for Liverpool as Gerrard threads a wonderful pass through to Sturridge, but the striker sees his tame effort saved by Szczesny. The visitors fail to make anything from the resulting corner. It's been a lively start.

CHANCE! Another glorious opportunity for the away side! Suarez scoops a tremendous pass into the feet of Sturridge, who then rounds Szczesny. However, his shot from a tight angle goes the wrong side of the post. Liverpool are looking full of confidence here.

Arsenal have failed to find their feet during these opening few minutes. They've ventured into the Liverpool half on a couple of occasions, but they've yet to threaten Brad Jones. Meanwhile, the visitors are posing a threat with almost every attack they put together.

A decent chance for Arsenal there sees Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sanogo linking well before the former's cross fails to find a teammate in the box. The Gunners have shown a bit more life about them in the last few minutes.

There's a far more even balance to the match now following Liverpool's bright start. Arsenal are beginning to cause the visitors a few problems. The hosts win a couple of quick corners, but they can't make either of them count.

YELLOW CARD: The first booking of the match goes the way of Liverpool's Jon Flanagan for chopping down Nacho Monreal in a wide position.

Arsenal make the breakthrough and it's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the goal! Sanogo did brilliantly to control an Ozil cross on his chest before seeing his shot saved by Jones. However, Oxlade-Chamberlain was there to convert the rebound from 10 yards.

That goal has lifted the whole mood inside the Emirates Stadium. The Arsenal fans are now in full voice and their team is responding by using the momentum to their advantage. Can Liverpool muster a response of their own? They've been lively so far but find themselves behind.

YELLOW CARD: Philippe Coutinho is the latest Liverpool player to go in the book after bringing down Oxlade-Chamberlain with a cynical challenge.

Credit to Liverpool, they certainly haven't let their heads drop since going 1-0 down. The visitors continue to ask questions of the Arsenal defence with their quick passing and fluid movement. That said, Luis Suarez hasn't had a great deal of involvement so far.

It's Liverpool who are now enjoying the majority of possession as they go in search of an equaliser. The Merseysiders are taking the patient approach, looking to break Arsenal down gradually. It isn't working for them so far.

Arsenal earn themselves a corner following some neat build-up play from fellow Germans Ozil and Podolski, but Jones is able to come off his line and claim the ball comfortably. It's been a decent match so far, though there has been a lack of action at either end of the pitch.

Podolski is lucky to get away with a booking there after slicing down Flanagan on the touchline. That wasn't a particularly wise challenge from the Arsenal man.

YELLOW CARD: Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini now goes into the book for clattering into Gerrard. It's all starting to get a little bit feisty out there.

Something of a half-chance for the hosts as Podolski hits a rushed shot on the volley from just inside the area that sails over the crossbar. There's more of an end-to-end feel about this match now as the two sides bomb forward at every available opportunity.

Five minutes of normal time left at the end of this first half and it's Arsenal who are looking more likely to get the game's second goal. Liverpool are struggling to put any decent attacking moves together at the moment, but they are far from out of this tie.

YELLOW CARD: Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is cautioned by referee Howard Webb after bringing down Oxlade-Chamberlain with Arsenal looking to counter attack.

Just the one minute of added time at the end of the first half...

Howard Webb brings and end to the first half and it's been a good one for Arsenal as they lead Liverpool 1-0 thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's goal in the 16th minute.

All in all, that wasn't too bad a half of football. There was plenty of action at both ends of the pitch, but neither side created too much in the way of clear-cut opportunities. Liverpool had a couple of great chances early on through Daniel Sturridge, though they were made to pay when Oxlade-Chamberlain fired the Gunners ahead.

UPDATE: Today's early kickoff in the FA Cup saw Everton beat Swansea City 3-1 at Goodison Park, while Sheffield United have just defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Bramall Lane to book their place in the last eight.

Sheffield United's win means that there could be a Sheffield derby in the quarter-finals should Wednesday beat Charlton. The draw for the next round was made earlier. Here it is:

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY! The teams are back out and it will be Liverpool to kick us off for this second half. No changes for either side at the break.

CHANCE! Almost an instant equaliser for Liverpool as Suarez tries to strike ball across goal and into the far corner, but Fabianski is there to deny the Uruguayan with his feet. An unorthodox save. Also an important one.

Liverpool have been made to pay for that miss from Suarez as Lukas Podolski puts Arsenal 2-0 up with a sweet finish! Ozil and Oxlade-Chamberlain linked well on the left before the latter's cut-back was swept in by the German. Clinical stuff from the Gunners.

Is there any way back for Liverpool now? Brendan Rodgers's side have shown flashes of menace today, but they've been punished for not taking their chances. It could have been a far different game had they had their shooting boots on.

CHANCE! Liverpool almost pull one back through Suarez, but his ferocious half-volley from inside the box goes narrowly over Fabianski's crossbar. You just get the feeling that the Merseysiders still have something to give this match, despite Arsenal's lead.

All of a sudden, this game has become very open. Both teams are attacking at every available opportunity. It's frantic stuff. Rather worrying for Arsenal is that Liverpool are starting to take a bit of control.

Was there going to be any other outcome? Liverpool are right back in this match as Steven Gerrard sens Fabianski the wrong way from the penalty spot. The penalty was initially given after Podolski had clumsily fouled Suarez, and there was Gerrard to slot the ball home from 12 yards.

SUBSTITUTION: Liverpool's first change sees Jordan Henderson enter the action in place of Aly Cissokho.

The Emirates Stadium holds its breath as Liverpool win a free kick right on the edge of the area. Suarez and Gerrard stand over the ball, but it's the Uruguayan who has a crack at goal. Fortunately for the Gunners, it hits the wall.

It's shaping up to be a fabulous final 20 minutes to this match. The game is very open now, with Arsenal showing no fear going forward in search of a third goal. Meanwhile, Liverpool need another goal to stay in the tournament.

CHANCE! Some neat build-up play from Liverpool allows Suarez to have a crack at goal from 25 yards, but Fabianski does well to get down low and make the save.

SUBSTITUTION: Arsenal make a change now as Santi Cazorla replaces Lukas Podolski. Can the little Spaniard inspire the Gunners to get over the line?

Cazorla has a decent chance to make an instant impact as the ball falls to him just inside the box, but his wild half-volley goes well over the crossbar. A little more composure and that could have been 3-1.

You have to say that this is anyone's game now. Arsenal are still leading, though you would not bet against Liverpool getting a second goal. They're looking dangerous. It's still very stretched. Just over 15 minutes of normal time left at the Emirates Stadium.

SUBSTITUTION: Another change for Arsenal here as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain makes way for Kieran Gibbs.

It has to be said that today has not been Howard Webb's finest performance as a referee. He's got quite a few decisions wrong, infuriating the fans inside the ground.

Just under 10 minutes left to play and there's a real sense of nervousness among the players and the fans. Remember, the winner of this match faces Everton in the quarter-finals. At the moment it looks like that will be Arsenal. However, do Liverpool have a final trick up their sleeve?

Liverpool are huffing and puffing but it's just not happening for them. Credit to Arsenal, the hosts are defending for their lives as the clock ticks towards the 90-minute mark.

CHANCE! Close for Liverpool! Gerrard's free kick was met by the head of Agger, but the Dane could only guide his effort wide of the post with Fabianski in no man's land.

SUBSTITUTION: Arsenal's final change sees Olivier Giroud take the place of Yaya Sanogo. The youngster has given a decent display up front for the Gunners this evening.

Howard Webb blows the full-time whistle and it's Arsenal who reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup thanks to an entertaining 2-1 win over Liverpool. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski put the home side 2-0 up before Steven Gerrard pulled a goal back for the visitors. The Gunners will now face Everton at the Emirates Stadium in the next round.
