Robbie Savage has claimed that Howard Webb made a "massive error" by failing to award Luis Suarez a penalty as Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup against Arsenal last Sunday.
The Reds were beaten 2-1 by the Gunners, and were denied a spot kick when Suarez was bundled over by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the second half.
Savage told The Mirror: "There can be no arguments about the one Webb did give for a trip on Luis Suarez. But he was only yards away from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's blatant foul on the same player, which went unpunished and denied Liverpool a chance to equalise.
"If a factory worker made such a massive error in their job, they would be hauled in to see the boss – yet Webb is back on duty this weekend. What the hell is going on?
"If he simply felt unable to award two penalties in the same match to the same team for fouls on the same player, he was failing to apply the laws of the game."
Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League.
