Arsene Wenger: 'I would not have resigned if we lost FA Cup final'

Wenger: 'I would not have resigned with final loss'

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he had no plans to resign as Arsenal manager if his side failed to beat Hull City in the final of the FA Cup last season.

The Gunners ended a nine-year drought without a major trophy as they came from behind to defeat Steve Bruce's men at Wembley.

The Frenchman believes that it would have been a major overreaction to even consider leaving the club had they succumbed to defeat against the Tigers.

Wenger told reporters: "To walk where? Walk away, no. Look, I have just won my 600th game out of 1,000. That means I have won 60% of the games.

"After 18 years, it would not be serious to walk away for losing one game. I do my job as well as I can and I respect my contracts always."

Arsenal face Hull City in the third round of the competition at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
