How Arsenal could line up against Newcastle United

Ahead of Arsenal's Premier League meeting with Newcastle United, Sports Mole looks at how the Gunners could line up.

The final Premier League match of the weekend takes place at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening as Arsenal play host to Newcastle United.

Unai Emery's side saw off Manchester United 2-0 before the international break to take control of their top-four destiny.

Arsenal's impressive form - four wins and a draw in their last five top-flight outings - has coincided with Emery shoehorning Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil into his starting lineup.

That looks likely to remain the case this weekend, though the hosts may also be without a few regulars.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up.

Doubtful: Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Nacho Monreal (calf), Granit Xhaka (thigh)

The Gunners are expected to be without Ramsey because of a thigh injury that also ruled him out of international duty with Wales.

Xhaka is another doubt after complaining of an adductor problem while away with Switzerland, but Emery may be forced to take a gamble on his fitness as Torreira is out through suspension.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Sead Kolasinac, who both represented their national side over the international break, will also be assessed.

There will definitely be no place in the squad for Bellerin and Welbeck, meanwhile, with the pair out for the season.

Ozil has spent the past fortnight at Arsenal's Colney training base and he should start this match. The German midfielder has had a hand in four goals in four Premier League games against Newcastle United (three goals, one assist).
