Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the Premier League fixture with Norwich City on Boxing Day.

Arsenal are scheduled to return to Premier League action on Boxing Day with a fixture away at bottom-of-the-table Norwich City.

The Gunners have scored 14 goals during their last four fixtures, following up three successive wins in the top flight with a 5-1 victory over Sunderland in the EFL Cup quarter-finals.

However, boss Mikel Arteta continues to deal with injury and disciplinary issues behind the scenes, something which will linger during their preparations for the visit to Carrow Road.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the meeting with the Canaries.

Albert Sambi Lokonga

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Arsenal confirmed before the Leeds United match that Lokonga had tested positive for coronavirus, ruling him out of the festive period while he isolates.

Pablo Mari

Possible return date: Unknown

Mari missed out against Leeds too, with Arteta revealing after the game that the defender had also tested positive for coronavirus.

Calum Chambers

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Like Lokonga and Mari, Chambers has also tested positive for coronavirus, and the Englishman will remain absent for the same amount of time as his teammates.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Norwich)

Tomiyasu was forced off shortly after the hour mark against Leeds, having felt muscular discomfort. Arteta revealed after the match that the substitution was precautionary and the Japanese subsequently missed the EFL Cup tie. However, the right-back could come back in contention at the weekend.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Norwich)

Maitland-Niles remains doubtful due to illness, although there has been no suggestion yet that his absence is due to coronavirus.

Sead Kolasinac

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Kolasinac is not expected back in full training until next year as he continues to battle back from a serious ankle injury.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Norwich)

Aubameyang has now been left out of Arsenal's last four games, stripped of the captaincy and banished from first-team training due to his disciplinary breach earlier this month. Until Arteta says otherwise, it can be assumed that the Gabon international remains out of contention.
