Arsenal's Jack Wilshere is reportedly returning to action at Under-23 level in a bid to step up his comeback from injury.
The 25-year-old has been out of action since April when he broke his leg while on loan at Bournemouth.
Wilshere is not expected to feature for the Gunners in their Premier League opener against Leicester City on Friday evening, with the club's medical staff advising him to rack up game time at a lower level, according to Evening Standard.
The midfielder could turn out for Arsenal U23s in their season curtain-raiser against Derby County on Monday evening, or their visit to Manchester City on August 21.
Wilshere's future at the London club is said to be uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract, but reports suggest that he is ready to fight for his place in the first team.
