Arsenal receive Gabriel Martinelli injury boost

Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli reassures supporters that he is feeling fine after coming off injured against Manchester City on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has assured fans that he "feeling fine" after going off injured in Tuesday's EFL Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester City.

The Brazilian youngster was making his first start for the Gunners for over nine months following a serious knee injury and enjoyed a bright first half at the Emirates, bagging the assist for Alexandre Lacazette's equaliser.

However, Martinelli soon went down after a challenge from Zack Steffen, and while the teenager tried to come back on for the second half, he had to be swiftly substituted.

Arsenal went on to lose 4-1 on their own turf, but Martinelli took to social media after the game to reassure fans that his injury is nothing serious.

The former Ituano man shared a photo of the game on Instagram with the caption "Feeling fine and ready to go again." ahead of Arsenal's Boxing Day showdown with Chelsea.

While Martinelli's return has been a significant boost to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has insisted that the Gunners cannot view the 19-year-old as their saviour amid fears of a relegation battle.
