Ibrahim Afellay feels that he has always had a special connection with Holland teammate Robin van Persie.

Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay has revealed that he has always felt a 'click' with Holland teammate Robin van Persie.

Both players scored twice each in the Dutch side's 6-0 victory over Northern Ireland on Saturday where the duo linked up effectively.

Afellay revealed that he shares a very good understanding with the Arsenal captain both on and off the pitch.

"That has been true since we first played together. I felt the 'click'. That's what we call 'football language'," Afellay told ANP.

"From the left I can cut inside and outside again. The opponent doesn't know what I'll do next.

"The important thing is to have confidence in yourself and trust the people with whom you work daily."

Afellay has been linked with a move to the Gunners after his Catalan employers said that the former PSV Eindhoven man could leave the Nou Campfor just £6m.
