Arsenal have reportedly pinpointed former captain Patrick Vieira as the club's favourite to replace Unai Emery as permanent manager.
The Gunners are said to have listed 12 potential candidates to assume the position, which has been filled temporarily by Freddie Ljungberg.
Reports have linked Mikel Arteta, Brendan Rodgers, Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti and Nuno Espirito Santo with the job at the Emirates.
According to Nice-Matin, the North London club view Vieira, currently managing Ligue 1 side Nice, as a serious candidate for the position.
The former midfielder, who spent nine years at Arsenal, guided Nice to a seventh-place finish in France last season.
More recent reports have claimed that Rodgers, one of the favourites for the role, is unaffordable for Arsenal, who would need to pay £14m to release him from Leicester City.
