Arsenal trio Lukas Podolski, Bacary Sagna and Per Mertesacker fly to Nigeria

A trio of star Arsenal players have arrived in Nigeria to take part in a series of promotional events. Bacary Sagna, Per Mertesacker and new signing Lukas Podolski travelled to Lagos to help create interest in the club. Nigeria is one of the world's biggest hotbeds for Arsenal support, with millions of Nigerians claiming an affiliation to the Gunners. Tomas Rosicky had also been due to take part in the whistle-stop tour of Africa before having an operation on an achillies injury. Arsenal continue their preparations for the new Premier League season with their last pre-season friendly away to FC Cologne on August 12.
