Arsene Wenger: Arsenal are "too nice"

Arsene Wenger demands that Arsenal develop the ruthless streak necessary to challenge for the Premier League title.

Arsene Wenger has said that his Arsenal troops are "too nice" and that he has demanded aggression in this afternoon's trip to Crystal Palace.

The Gunners slumped a shock 2-0 defeat to West Ham United at the Emirates last Sunday as their Premier League campaign began on a sour note.

"Sometimes, we are maybe too nice," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "If you want to say our aggressive level last Sunday was not big enough, then I would agree with you.

"Alan Pardew has done a good job at Palace. They will give everything against us. But we always expect that.

"We just need to be at our best and produce a different performance from Sunday."

Pardew's side opened their season with a 3-1 win at Norwich City last week.
