Arsene Wenger: 'Petr Cech gives us stability'

Arsene Wenger believes that new Arsenal signing Petr Cech will add "talent" and "experience" to the club's defence.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that Petr Cech's experience will help to improve the club's defence.

The 33-year-old completed his move to the Gunners last month, after spending 11 years at their London rivals Chelsea.

"I believe he has many guarantees," Wenger told reporters. "He will give us his talent, his experience, his knowledge of the top-level game.

"He can contribute to stabilise our defensive sector. I must say that in the second part of the season we conceded 13 goals from 19 games, so there is not much wrong there. That means that the requested level is very high."

Cech has kept 168 clean sheets during his time in the Premier League.
