Former Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin believes that Mesut Ozil does not have a future with the Gunners.
The 31-year-old has struggled for the most part of the 2019-20 campaign, often being frozen out of the squad under Unai Emery and registering only one goal and two assists in the Premier League all season.
Ozil is enjoying more minutes under Mikel Arteta, but Arshavin has claimed that the midfielder "slows down the game" and is no longer a good fit for Arsenal.
Speaking to 888Sport, Arshavin said: "As a player, of course, I respect him. Mesut is a world-class player. But for me personally he slows down the game.
"I would prefer to use another player. Mikel, as we can see, is the opposite and plays him a lot. He has improved his game at Arsenal but still, in the future, I do not see him there."
Ozil, who has scored 44 times in 254 appearances for Arsenal since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2013, will see his current deal at the Emirates expire next summer.
