Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that Andrey Arshavin will stay at the club this month, despite interest from Russian clubs.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that midfielder Andrey Arshavin will stay at the club this month.

Arshavin, 30, has been linked with a move back to Russia, to either former club Zenit St. Petersburg or Anzhi Makhachkala, but Wenger has reiterated his desire to keep the Russian.

Any potential deal would have to go through before February 24, when the Russian transfer window closes.

"I expect him to be here after February 24 and that is clear," said Wenger.

Arshavin has made 24 appearances for the Gunners so far this season, scoring two goals.
