Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will set a new club record when he takes charge of his 250th game as manager in Saturday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is guaranteed to set a new club record in Saturday's Premier League home meeting with Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners will be looking for an improvement in results after failing to win any of their final four Premier League matches before the recent international window.

Arsenal fell to away defeats against Bournemouth and Newcastle United either side of a 2-2 home draw against Liverpool.

The Gunners then played out a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in their final outing before the international break, leaving them in fourth place and nine points adrift of top spot.

Arsenal will be hoping to return to winning ways in Saturday's clash against Forest in a game where Arteta will reach a significant milestone in his managerial tenure.

Arteta guaranteed to set club record in Forest clash

Having overseen 249 matches in the Arsenal dugout, Arteta is set to become the 11th individual to take charge of 250 games as Gunners boss.

Impressively, Arteta is guaranteed to break the record for the most wins registered by any Arsenal manager in their first 250 games in charge.

The 42-year-old has overseen 146 victories, 43 draws and 60 defeats in his 249 competitive matches as Arsenal manager.

As a result, he has already surpassed the records of George Graham and Arsene Wenger, who recorded 135 and 136 wins respectively in their first 250 matches as Arsenal boss.

Arteta "very happy" to reach 250-game landmark

Speaking ahead of Saturday's fixture, Arteta expressed his delight at reaching a significant milestone in his managerial career.

"I'm extremely grateful, very happy," Arteta told reporters. "I've enjoyed every minute of it because of the people that I work with every single day and because I understand how lucky I am to be sitting where I am, and you always want more.

"I feel a huge pride to see the people that work in our organisation and how they feel about the club right now, and what we transmit as a football club and as a team. But it is about winning and the end, I want more, I want big trophies and we are on that journey."

Arteta will go into his landmark game without the defensive trio of Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney.

The Arsenal boss has revealed that White is expected to be out for months after undergoing surgery to solve a knee issue.
