Kieran Gibbs: 'Arsenal are hungry for success'

Kieran Gibbs says that Arsenal can use last season's FA Cup win as a stepping stone for future success.

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has said that the club are confident of building upon last season's FA Cup success.

The Gunners claimed a 3-2 victory against Hull City in May's final to end their nine-year trophy drought.

Gibbs has admitted that winning the cup was a vital step for the club and he believes that they can use it as a platform from which to challenge for more silverware.

"Winning the FA Cup was the biggest thing and we've kept a large amount of the squad together and added some new players," Gibbs told Arsenal's official website. "Last year we did that as well. We didn't let a lot of people go and brought people in. That had a positive effect for us so hopefully that can happen again.

"The boys needed that [FA Cup] win and everyone involved in the club needed it. We want to come back and use it as a stepping stone, we don't want to take our foot off the gas.

"It's only the start and I hope we grow in statute. I think the players have come back with bigger personalities and they're hungry for more."

Arsenal will have the chance to win their first piece of silverware this season when they face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon.
