Kieran Gibbs: 'I'm very excited about our quality'

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs reveals that he is "excited" about the future of his side as he feels that they have gelled early in the season.

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has admitted that he is "excited" about how his side are gelling this season.

The Gunners moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a 3-1 win over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna.

"I think the team is just gelling," Gibbs told the club's official website. "We've had a strong finish to last season and people could see the players really gel. I think that's happening this season at an earlier stage.

"I'm very excited about the quality of the squad and when we get more players back from injury I feel like we'll be a force. We need to keep focused and build on our run. I'm sure we can be contenders."

Arsenal face West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday in the Capital One Cup.
