Kuyt: 'Arsenal defeat was unbelievable'

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt says that Arsenal are a "different team" without Robin van Persie.

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has admitted that the Reds need to be more clinical in front of goal following their weekend defeat to Arsenal.

Kenny Dalglish's side had the run of the game at Anfield but failed to convert their chances, with Kuyt missing a penalty in the first half.

Robin van Persie was the hero for the Gunners as he netted both goals in Arsenal's 2-1 victory over the Merseyside club.

"It's very disappointing," Kuyt told the club's official website. "I thought the team played really well. We should have scored at least three goals.

"I enjoyed linking up with Luis Suarez and we created enough chances but we need to kill those chances. To lose was just unbelievable.

"Without van Persie they are a completely different team. I had a feeling I didn't hit the penalty as properly as I normally do but that's football - sometimes you score goals, sometimes you miss penalties."

Liverpool's hopes of reaching the top four of the Premier League have dwindled after slipping ten points below the Champions League qualification spot.
