Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has predicted that Arsenal will fight for the Premier League title this season due to their capture of goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The 33-year-old moved to the Emirates from Chelsea last month for a reported £11m fee after losing his number one spot to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard, who is due to make his debut for MLS side New York City FC this weekend, believes that Cech could "make a difference" to Arsenal's title ambitions.
"Arsenal signing Petr Cech is a big deal," The Express quotes Lampard as saying. "Cech is a world-class keeper and person and can help push Arsenal into the running next season.
"Arsenal weren't a million miles away over the last few seasons. They are always challenging before falling just short but Cech going there, as John Terry said recently, will save them points.
"Manchester City and Chelsea will be challenging for the title once again. They remain favourites but Petr will make a difference."
Cech spent 11 years at Chelsea.
