Jens Lehmann: 'Mesut Ozil is suffering from lack of winter break'

Jens Lehmann believes that Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is "suffering" due to a lack of a winter break.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann believes that midfielder Mesut Ozil is "suffering" from fatigue due to a lack of a winter break.

The German international moved to the Emirates last summer from Real Madrid, who do not play over the Christmas period, unlike English clubs.

"When you move over from Spain you don't know how it's going to affect your body when you play through the winter," Lehmann told talkSPORT. "He's suffering and is showing some fatigue. I understand he had a fever last week."

Ozil, who has faced criticism in recent weeks for his performances, is expected to play in tonight's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
