Arsenal have confirmed that new arrival Henrikh Mkhitaryan will inherit Alexis Sanchez's number seven shirt at the Emirates Stadium.
The Armenia international officially joined the Gunners on Monday evening in a straight swap deal involving Sanchez, who will sport the same number at Manchester United.
Sanchez took hold of the shirt in North London following Tomas Rosicky's departure in 2016 and leaves a big void to be filled by the incoming playmaker.
Speaking on Tuesday morning, manager Arsene Wenger insisted that Mkhitaryan will bring world-class qualities to Arsenal.
"I believe we lose a world-class player and gain a world-class player," he told reporters. "Overall I think Mkhitaryan has the qualities to integrate into our game. He has a good team attitude as well. I'm confident it will work.
Arsenal are also expected to wrap up a deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the transfer window closes next week.
