Monchi has reportedly accepted an offer from Arsenal to become the English club's new sporting director.
Sven Mislintat left his position as Arsenal's head of recruitment earlier this month, and Monchi has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over the last few weeks.
According to Calciomercato, Monchi has accepted an offer from the Gunners, who are ready to pay the £2.6m compensation to Roma in order to release him from his contract with the Italian giants.
The 50-year-old, who had been with Sevilla before moving to Roma, is a close friend of Arsenal boss Unai Emery, having worked with the head coach in Spain.
Monchi discovered the likes of Alberto Moreno, Jesus Navas, Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic at Sevilla.
