Podolski talks of versatility

Arsenal's new £10.9m signing Lukas Podolski believes that he can add versatility to Arsene Wenger's squad next season.

The 26-year-old became the Gunners' first signing of the transfer window after agreeing a five-year deal at the Emirates Stadium.

Podolski, who should add to his 95 Germany caps at Euro 2012 this summer, said that he is comfortable playing in both a central position and out wide.

"In Cologne, I played as a centre-forward and also as a playmaker," said Podolski. "In the national team I play wide on the left, I honestly don't mind where I play, as long as it's in a forward position.

"But it's always the coach who decides where you play and I will do my best wherever I play."

Podolski could not help Cologne avoid relegation from the Bundesliga this season.
