Alexis Sanchez eager to reach full fitness

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez admits that he has plenty of work to do before he returns to full fitness.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he still needs to do plenty of work before he is at full fitness.

The Chilean international made his debut for the Gunners over the weekend, appearing twice in the Emirates Cup.

However, Sanchez is aware that he is some way off the level of fitness that saw him perform impressively for his country at the World Cup.

"What is important now is to play and get fit. I need to get 100%," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I have to go step by step. I have only trained twice with the team. I just have to keep working hard and training.

"What is important for me is to try and play games, to score as many goals as possible and to win titles."

Arsenal return to action on Sunday when they face Manchester City at Wembley Stadium for the Community Shield.
