Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirms that Robin van Persie will start against West Brom on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Robin van Persie will start for Arsenal against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The striker started on the bench for the Gunners' Champions League match against Marseille on Tuesday amid fears that he was burned out after his side's 5-3 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

When asked whether the Dutchman would begin against the Baggies, Wenger replied: "Yes... he was a bit on edge after the Chelsea game. He was not injured - but he was tired after Chelsea, so the question I had to answer [for Marseille] was: do I play an hour and take him off, or do I bring him on after an hour? I chose the second option."

In other team news, Kieran Gibbs and Marouane Chamakh have been ruled out of the match at the Emirates Stadium.
