Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is not worried by Robin van Persie's current contract situation.
The Gunners captain has a contract at the Emirates Stadium that is due to expire in 18 months, but the striker has shown little interest in extending that deal any further.
However, Wenger has chosen to concentrate on the Dutchman's current form, which has seen him score 28 goals in his last 27 Premier League appearances.
"You want your players to perform at their best and I believe that Robin van Persie is an exceptional player," Wenger told a press conference.
"For me money is not what you worry about. As long as [a player] is at your club then you want them to perform well.
"You want your players to be at their best and not considering any contract negotiations."
Van Persie scored a hat-trick as Arsenal defeated Chelsea 5-3 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
