Arsene Wenger: 'We rely on Robin van Persie'

Arsene Wenger admits that Arsenal are dependent on Robin van Persie's goals but is "confident" that the likes of Gervinho, Walcott and Arshavin will find the back of the net soon.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that the Gunners are "reliant" on Robin van Persie but is confident that the team's other strikers are capable of making an impact.

The Dutchman has reached an impressive record of 31 goals in his last 34 appearances for the Gunners, but Wenger has insisted that the North London club are not a one-man team.

"Robin is top, top, top in the world at the moment," said Wenger. "Hopefully we can keep him going. He's in a period where he shows it is natural for him to score goals. When you are not desperate for goals, you score.

"We are reliant on Robin, of course, because he scores many goals. That is always a problem you have when someone is playing extremely well.

"However, I believe that players like Gervinho, [Theo] Walcott, [Andrey] Arshavin and [Aaron] Ramsey will score goals as well. But at the moment they are more in the providing zone. I am confident that in the near future some others will score goals as well."

Arsenal currently sit three points below fourth spot in the table, level with Liverpool.
