Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has refused to be drawn into predicting how many points his side need to claim third.
The Gunners sit two points clear in third with a game in-hand as they prepare to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
Wenger's side could extend their grip on third to five points after Tottenham Hotspur lost at home to Norwich and Chelsea could only draw at Fulham on Monday.
Wenger said: "The only target we know we can do is if we get our resources together for the next game. That is the only way to do it.
"You don't know what the others will do, so let's just win our games."
Pundits have been analysing the run-ins of Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea to try to predict who will achieve automatic promotion for the UEFA Champions League, but Wenger insists that he will not be getting involved.
"For some people these predictions are their job. Believe me, they don't know much better than you or me and the result of every game is just a consequence of your performance on the day," added Wenger.
"You can have an idea but football has surprised us so many times, especially recently in the last two or three months."
Arsenal go into their game with Wolves coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Manchester City.
