Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says that he would like to see Arsene Wenger as the next England manager.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that he would like Arsene Wenger to become the next England manager.

The Football Association will be looking to appoint a successor to current boss Fabio Capello once the Italian steps down after Euro 2012.

"I don't think it would be a bad thing," said Wilshere. "The boss proves it every year.

"If the boss wanted the England job I'd be delighted with that."

Wilshere hopes to be back in action in January following a lengthy layoff after ankle surgery.
